The Cervaro della Sala is the jewel in Antinori’s Umbrian crown. A blend of Chardonnay with a touch of Grechetto, this wine has only been produced since the 80s but takes its name from the aristocratic family that owned the estate in the 14th century.
It’s a cuvée simply without equal. Aged in barriques but with plenty of potential to be kept further in the bottle, this is a uniquely Italian rival to the best Burgundies. The 2017 vintage wasn’t the easiest year thanks to a late frost, making its intensity and finesse all the more impressive.
