Since being purchased by Désiré Cordier in 1918, Château Talbot has remained in the Cordier family for five generations. It’s among the largest estates in the Médoc, with 110 hectares under vine that stretch north as far as the border of Pauillac, and we rate their wines as the most consistent in St-Julien.
Unusually, they’ve maintained significant plantings of Sauvignon and Semillon alongside the Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot that go into their silky, signature grand vins. All in all, a very classy 4éme Cru Classé.
Even now, the 2016 shows chocolatey notes that will only intensify as it ages.
